Goodbye August

This is probably a record for me: I haven't hardly blogged all month! Things have been busy in our house. School started for Kale and I last week. I've been working on extra-curricular stuff at work. I have been working extra hours here and there. Add planning some upcoming events to that, and let's just say I've felt overwhelmed!

We are selling our house. It's bittersweet because I love our house but the interest rates are so great right now I can get double the house for a similar payment to what we have now. We would probably be moving before we have our next kid anyway since I have graduated and we can afford a little upgrade. It's been a whirlwind of activity! I spent an entire week deep cleaning, painting, organizing, and de-cluttering the house and listed it with a family friend who is a realtor. Its been on the market for just over two weeks. We've had several showings and calls, and we're just waiting to sell! It's not the best market to be a seller. It's a great house, so if anyone you know is looking :)

We put an offer in on a house just a few minutes away. It was accepted with a contingency that we would sell our house or that Oct 25th would arrive. We're hoping to sell first so we don't have to worry about having a renter in our house. We looked at several in the area but there was just something about the PC house we love. It's a multi-level house that is backed up to wetlands (you know me, I'm not a subdivision type). It's on a big lot, and has some great features inside: hardwood floors, big family room, 4 beds, 3 baths, nice garage, and the yard is awesome. We can't wait to get into it! We're hoping we can be moved before Sophie's first birthday.

We didn't get to finish our swimming lessons. Things kept coming up. The ones we did go to Sophie loved though. She can even go under water. It still scares me every time but she manages!

We went to visit Sophie's great-grandma this month. Sophie usually has stranger danger but she did pretty good and even let Grandma hold her!

Sophie is doing better with table foods. She loves Arby's roast beef... She likes the wrappers almost as much.

She is also eating toast, yogurt, shredded cheese, chicken, and roast beef. She pretty much avoids all vegetables! I'm still pumping and that is her primary source of food. I just recently cut down to three pumps a day and am supplementing with my freezer stash. If I've done my math correctly that should get us to about a year and then we'll make the switch to whole milk or lactaid. I plan on pumping at least 2-3 times a day until 18 months though.

Sophie loves her baths!

I can't believe my baby is almost 11 months, soon to be a year old!

Swim Lessons

We enrolled in an Infant Swim class back in the Spring. When I got my new job, and various other scheduling conflicts came up, we had to keep rescheduling. We went for our first day of 8 yesterday. It was so much fun! I was the parent in the water, and Kale was manning the camera. Seeing this pictures made me smile, I love my little water bug so much!

She loves the Splash Pad
No Photoshop here, those are really her gorgeous eyes!
The teacher was so surprised at how comfortable Sophie was putting her head in the water and back floating!
Learning to turn and grab the side when we jump in
Getting ready to jump!
Before class started, I could barely control the girl, she wanted IN!

Un-Private

I changed the blog address and went un-private. Hopefully that will be enough to ward off those that I was trying to avoid!

Also, don't forget to check out my food storage blog. I want to help you be successful with building your food storage because I am pretty passionate and feel it's very important! utahfoodstorageblog.blogspot.com
