Anniversary

Kale and I stayed at Castle Creek in for our anniversary Wednesday. It was a lot of fun! They have themed rooms and the place is literally a castle. We stayed in the Romeo and Juliet room. It was on the top level. It had a balcony, an awesome huge garden tub, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. They had tons of games and snacks/soda too. It was like in it's own forest too, and there was a fun little scenic walkway and it was right by a stream. Way fun! We took advantage of being baby-less for a night and saw a movie Kale wanted to see and ate at Outback. It was so fun!

The next day we went to get the baby and after her nap went to Toy Story 3. Sophie had been to a couple movies when she was much younger, so we were excited and nervous about how this would go. At first she was startled by the loud noises and there were a few times she started to scream. I just help her on my lap and hugged her really tight and talked in her ear and after a few minutes she didn't get scared at all! She seemed to love the movie. She made it about and hour and fifteen into the movie before she got tired, so I strapped her into my Beco and walked in the aisle until she fell asleep. When the movie was over, she stayed asleep. I hated to wake her so we just walked around the Junction/Fat Cats. When we woke up we headed to the Texas Roadhouse. Sophie was such a busy body... she was looking around and wanted to touch everything (ew!). She sat up in the highchair successfully for almost the entire meal (she usually tries to arch her way out). She had bread and potatoes... lol a girl after my own heart (carbs!)

That night Kale mowed the front lawn with the baby. It was so cute. She was just hanging out in the Beco, kicking her legs and looking around. I love that girl (and that boy!).

I made a treat run to Wendy's for a frosty for Kale. Sophie wanted to try it. She loved it!

I'll have to post more pictures later when I have more time.

California Part Two

Plane, eating a mum-mum

Daddy slept on the right, look how much room of the king-size bed he had!
Our awesome car (brand new, with only 6 miles on it - automated doors, back hatch, seats, satellite radio, touch screen radio console, camera for backing up... you name it this baby had it... and it was FREE to upgrade from our economy because they were out of them)
Awake after our Golden Gate Bridge Nap
A little windy/chilly but Sophs didn't mind
60mph hr winds and she can't wait to get in a splash
First sucker... it was a hit, she loved it and sucked it all down... then cried for more
We got to play on some video simulator that are used for teaching police... fun but we all got a little carsick
Continued from last post:
We went swimming that night. Well we tried. It was SO SO SO windy and pretty chilly. Sophie didn't even act any different though. We only stayed in the pool for about ten minutes.
Sunday we sat around and didn't do a thing. We were hungry and took a random drive and stopped at a random pizza place that was DELICIOUS! That's when we gave Sophie a sucker. She likes to go after what we're eating. I usually give her a cucumber out of our salad or the crust from some bread. The place had suckers and I gave her one and she loved it. She sucked it all down, and was upset when it was gone. We went to browse bestbuy. Kale really wants an Ipad. He's been saving up all his birthday money ect for one. We were going to buy one but they were out. I guess they're in really high demand in Cali. We ended up buying a Macbook. I have been sick of my PC and it's constant virus problem. Mine has had a virus twice and Kale's has had one four or five times. I can usually fix them, but this last time we paid to have them fixed because I couldn't figure out how to save them. It was a splurge... but who can resist 18 months no interest? I was so unsure of the purchase it took me hours to open it... lol. I like it so far. There are a few things that really bug me about it. Some of the buttons are weird, and I can't find the right click button... so I haven't been able to copy/paste anything.
Monday we met Patty, the whole reason we originally were going to San Fran. She works for a police academy type setting so we got to play with the video simulators. We ate at the spaghetti factory. Then we headed back to our hotel. I returned my rented hospital grade pump. It was so nice, I wish I had the 1500+ to buy one (Medela Symphony). Man that thing was effective. We were able to change our flight to an earlier time the next day for only $30. We were just so over being there. I packed and loaded most things up. Sophie woke up pretty much every hour that night crying. Finally at 4 I just put her in our bed. She continued to wake up fussing, but at least she was right there I could just stick her binky back in. I finally got up at 530 to pump and fed her. Then I was so tired I accidentaly snoozed the alarm. Don't worry though... I realized what I did about 20 min later. We were rushed, but made it, turned our car in, and boarded our (delayed) plane. Sophie slept the entire time home (wonder why). We got back home, unloaded, and went grocery shopping. I did all our vacation laundry and cleaned the house I had already cleaned before the trip. It's 9pm now, and Sophie woke up and is ready to party. I wish she was ready to sleep... but I think she's on Pacific Time!!! Oh great :)

California part one

Well I am writing from kale's iPhone in California. I'll be honest it has been a horrible trip. Long story and pretty much something I don't want to blog about-but I disowned my family right before I came. In doing so we had to find a hotel, rental car, and a ride to the airport with only a few hours notice. Our laptop has a virus so we had to make plans from this dumb phone.

Ok so I arranged getting to the airport. We were running late so we basically walked on the plane and took off. Luckily the flight had a few extra seats so we got to take sophie's carseat on board. The flight went well. I had to use my hand pump when we were taking off and it was interesting. My hand was tired! Sophie did well. We got off, grabbed our bags, and headed to the shuttle to get our rental car. We're 24 so it was an extra 20 bucks a day... Boo! They were out of compact cars so we got to upgrade to a brand new chrysler town and country. Wow it is super duper fancy. It only had six miles on it total. We drove around for 45 min with an unhappy baby looking for our hotel. We found it finally but it was pretty much a dump in the ghetto. We of course had to eat the cost of that night. I was trying to fond somewhere else on the iPhone. By now Sophie was really pissed and we had no idea where we were going. We got directions, headed over the bay bridge, and found our hotel which was surprisingly nice! It was almost double the price. So yeah we had the rental car that was about 260, and now the hotel that was nonrefundable at 45, and the new hotel at 80 per night. Kinda crappy considering we didn't budget for any of that. The hotel was great except we were by some noisy people that night so the next morning we packed up. We asked to change but we had to wait until another was ready. California is so confusing to drive in. That's one of our main frustrations. We have put almost 400 miles on the dang car. we went to the town and parking and traffic sucked So we headed to the golden gate bridge. We walked around there for a while. It was noisy, foggy, and cold but I was wearing Sophie in my Beco and she fell asleep. A sleeping baby is a good thing. We went back and rechecked into the hotel. Our new room was right outside of the ice machine and elevator. We went to a MLB game. We had three tickets but since my sister didn't come we just didn't use one...ugh what a waste. We lasted to the 7th inning and left to get Sophie to the hotel. The night was noisy and Sophie, who was staying in the bed with us, woke up at 4 for a couple hours. It threw off our schedule and we woke up half hour after we should have left. We rushed and barely made it. I had to pump on the way and when we got there I just threw my breast pump on the seat and we headed to Alcatraz. We were able to sell our two extra tickets which was nice to get back that money. When the tour was over we headed back to our car, that was in a pay lot near the pier, and there was no breast pump to be found. kale thinks he forgot to lock the car. Yep that's right... Some scum bag stole my breast pump and even all my pump stuff that was all milked out since I just uses it. I am so disappointed in humanity. So the drama of the day was finding one. Sophie is on a nursing strike and she doesn't like formula. I don't blame her that stuff smells disgusting. So we had to have one. I had to drive half hour south to rent one. Of course it was only ten dollars to rent til I leave but I had to buy the pump stuff that was 55. My original kit was only 100 for everything off ksl! Such a hassle. Even though we checked out and hauled our stuff in the car, we decided to get another room at the same hotel. I had packed light with the plan to do laundry at the lady's house we were going to stay at... So we had to find a laundromat and do laundry. We tried going out to eat but Sophie had other plans. We shoveled out food in so we could get her to bed. We got a crib and she did so much better. This morning I drove about 45 min to buy a pump I found on craigslist. It seems really nice and newer than my other pump was. Plus it came with lots of extra accessories which was nice. Today we are just lounging and will go swimming at the pool later. I hate San Francisco and never want to come here again. I mean honestly who steals an effing breastpump?
