Happy Easter, Happy Birthday!

April is here and going going going already. We had a good Easter. It was my birthday, AND I had to work. They make holidays really fair in healthcare. We're always open and they try to rotate everyone through so you don't work the same holiday all the time. Since I am working full-time and shared between two departments, I have to do at least two Spring/Summer holidays for Peds (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, July 24th, and Halloween), and two for ER (Easter and Labor Day). So I end up working A LOT of holidays! It usually works out good though because Kale has them off so less babysitting. I am lucky to be a nurse and work 12-hour days. It means I'm home more and makes childcare a little easier. 12-hour shifts are long and can be hard physically and mentally though, and it takes me time to recover from working them in a row.

After I got off work, we all took a nap! (Best part of the day). When we got up, we saw the presents the Easter bunny had left for Sophie! She got a new bouncy ball, a bubble-blowing lawn mower, and some dinosaurs. She loves dinosaurs so much, I'm sure the Easer bunny saw these and knew she had to have them.

Kale made pancakes for me, and we spent time outside and took a long walk around the neighborhood. Kale gave me a digital picture frame for my birthday, and my mom gave me birthday money and some new scrubs. I LOVE scrubs and it's fun to get new pairs. Thanks everyone who made my birthday special, and Happy Easter!

Home Depot, Baby Animal Days

Today was a busy day. We went to home depot to build a birdhouse for their monthly kids activity. It's a lot of fun, and it's right up my mom's alley! She loves things like this, and thinks is so cool to teach Sophie about using tools and building things.

Sophie's favorite part is painting. She gets really into it. She had a lot of fun. We made a bird feeder and can't wait to get some birds around. What a fun Grandma outing!

After our craft we had an Easter Egg hunt. Sophie loved the idea of collecting eggs, and loved it even more when she realized there were treats in them!

We met up with the Bettolo's and headed to Baby Animal Days in Logan. I had heard great things about it and wanted to check it out. I was pretty disappointed though. I could have gone in my backyard or to IFA and had less people and more time to see and pet animals. Oh well, live and learn. We had a few good experiences. Sophie loved riding the big horses.

She kept saying "weeeeee" and thought it was so much fun. She'd reach forward and pet the horse too. It's funny because my parents have horses and she's always been afraid of them. We had a barnyard party and she wouldn't ride the horse at all. I'm glad she liked it today and hope we can ride more this summer.

The lines were way too long, but we got to pet a few things: piggies, baby lambs, goats, horses, and rabbits.

It was a nice warm day and good to spend time with the family. That night we went out to eat for my birthday and then went to Kangaroo Zoo. Man, Sophie LOVED it. She was a wild woman. She was climbing the huge slides like it was no big deal. We were there almost two hours and she was so sad when we had to leave. What a fun Saturday!
