New Job

I'm so excited I got a job on the Pediatric floor at my hospital! They let me know today and I have just been smiling all day. That is my favorite floor to float too. I start orienting in February. What a great opportunity and I can't wait to start. I went to my friend's house yesterday. Her baby was born about 2 weeks before Sophie. She's three pounds smaller too. So funny to see them together. I love hanging out with my friend, never a dull moment at her house!

Chubby Legged Sophie

Chub legs!

Daddy's Girl
I love my girl!
What an amazing feeling to look at my beautiful baby girl, and truly ponder what a blessing she is in my life. She has brought Kale and I closer together as a family, has already taught me so much, and I really feel like there is no greater calling then to be a mother. She is the sweetest little bug, I love everything about her, and I am so grateful I can spend time with her so often. I am lucky to have a job with flexible hours and only have to go to work twice a week! She is such a special girl, has so much personality, and is growing so fast. She is so smiley, and has the biggest grin on her face. I must say, she does love her Mama... she knows my voice so well and I notice a difference when I enter the room-she just knows I'm there. She loves to talk and sing. No sign of teeth but definitely know she's working on them... lots of hand sucking, drool, acidy poops, and sometimes she gets fussy. Her head control is amazing, she's such a strong girl! She never seems interested in toys/rattles, but loves things around her and loves her hands. She's got a great grip too, and will hold your finger all day if you let her. She hates tummy time.
The bathroom remodel is going well. The hard parts are over. My mom was able to get the jetted tub installed, got farther along on the sheetrock, finish tiling the shower, and has started on the glass blocks. Here is the most recent picture. There isn't natural light in the bathroom so the tile looks darker than it actually is. I love the mosiac glass tile trim! My poor mom worked on it while watching Sophie while I worked... She does it on her days off.

Bathing in the Sink

Sophie is such a sweet baby. We've been bathing her in the sink and she LOVES it! I can't believe she only fit in her baby bath tub for under 12 weeks... Her hair is getting so much longer/thicker. She loves to talk and sing to me. I'm pretty sure she's teething. Earlier this week she had been fussy and wouldn't lay on one side. I thought it could be an ear infection. We went to the doc, and he said her ear cannals are VERY small. He had to clean them out and she screamed hysterically. No ear infection, so the ped said her teeth could be moving, not necessarily ready to break through, but causing enough discomfort. We gave her tylenol for a while but seems that she's feeling better now. We were able to get her weighed at the appt and she is 13lb 10oz! What a chunker. Her eyes are still blue and they are so pretty I love them. She loves wiggling. She likes to hold her own hands. Her nails have been growing so fast! I have to clip them every few days. When she's really tired she likes her hands up by her face so I try to keep them short so she doesn't scratch herself. She likes to look out at what's going on. She is pretty strong and can hold her weight on her legs. She is sleeping on average 8 hours each night.

I've been trying some new recipes! I love crockpot ones because they can be cooking all day and be ready when we get home from work or what not.

3 months, Happy New Year

We just love our baby. She was three months on on New Years Day! Hmm an update about Sophie. She is the best baby. She is so content. She loves her mamma too. She follows me and my voice around the room if I'm not holding her. She's constantly smiling. She goes to sleep great and sleeps about 6-8 hours through the night. Her head control is so good. She loves to be held up so she can look around. She is such a porker. We weighed her on our scale at home and think she's anywhere between 13 1/2-14lbs. She's wearing about 6 month size clothes. She's got the softest skin and the most beautiful hair. She has this darling cowlick in her hair too. We took her out to eat and she got so many compliments. Her eyes are still blue. She loves to talk to people and lately she sounds like she's singing to me. I should try to get it on camera.

We didn't do anything on new years eve... boring huh!? New Years Day I didn't have to work because census was low and so we went to the mall. I wish I could have gotten a picture (I did only on my phone) of Kale driving the stroller around. He seriously looked like a natural! It was the first time we used it and it worked well. We hit a couple stores in the mall and then went to eat at Olive Garden with a gift card we got for Christmas.
We've been bathing Sophie in the sink and she LOVES the room!
